Current Town Mayor - Councillor Sandra Beynon

Councillor Sandra Beynon was elected to the role of Mayor at the Council's Annual General Meeting on 11th May 2026.

I'm very proud and honoured to be elected as Mayor of Llwchwr Town Council. This area has a welcoming community and one which I will represent to the best of my ability.

I joined Llwchwr Town Council in 2018. Before this, I spent my working life as a nurse in the NHS, with the last twenty years dedicated to community nursing. Becoming a Town Councillor felt like a natural continuation of serving the community—no longer in a clinical role, but as someone who can listen, support and help when challenges arise. Being a Councillor is a fulfilling part of my life which I enjoy very much.

Another important part of my life is being the deacon and chapel secretary for Gellionnen Chapel.

When time allows, I enjoy reading, travelling and supporting animal welfare - which is something I'm very passionate about.

This year, I am proud to support three charities that reflect the values of myself and our community: Loughor Inshore Lifeboat, Jireh Church Foodbank and Llys Nini Animal Centre. Hopefully we'll be organising a few functions throughout 2026/27 to raise funds for these worthy causes, it would be great to see everyone coming along to enjoy these community events.
